Jim Nutt

Biography

Jim Nutt (b. 1938, Pittsfield, MA) has had numerous solo exhibitions, including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL;, Chicago; and the San Francisco Art Institute. Recent group exhibitions include the Smithsonian American Museum of Art, Washington DC; Goldsmiths Centre for Contemporary Art, London; Madison Museum of Contmporary Art, Madison, WI; Tang Museum, New York; Met Breuer, New York; Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien, Austria; Morgan Library & Museum, New York; RISD Museum, Providence; Museum of Modern Art, New York; and the Contemporary Museum, Honolulu; amongst others. 

 

Nutt’s work is included in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago; the Ball State Museum of Art, IN; Harvard University Art Museums, MA; the High Museum of Art, GA; the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, WI; the Morgan Library & Museum, NY; the Museum of Contemporary Art, IL; the Museum of Modern Art, NY; the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington D.C.; the Smithsonian Archives of American Art, Washington D.C.; and the Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; amongst others. Nutt lives and works in Chicago.
