Jorinde Voigt in Group Exhibition at the St. Regis Hotel during the 60th Venice Biennale

January - November 2024

Indoor with artworks by: Gregor Hildebrandt, Alicja Kwade, Jorinde Voigt, Onur Mansiz, Julian Opie, Carina Brunnelli, Brueckel/Schmoll and others.

The exhibition, curated by Gisela Winkelhofer, takes place outdoor on the upper terrace of the St. Regis in Venice next to Canal Grande with an installation of a Social Bench together with two modified Street Lights by Jeppe Hein.

In the Rhythm series, the artist constructs three-dimensional lines by manipulating colored paper and existing drawn lines through slicing, cutting, repositioning and layering. The word comes from the Greek ῥυθμός, rhythmos, and refers to any regular, recurring movement over time. The concept of rhythm extends to cyclical structures like heartbeats, circadian rhythms, lunar phases, seasons, and tides. Jorinde Voigt's material manipulation raises questions about boundaries, limitations and resilience. This exploration can be broadened to contemplate the interconnected rhythms shaping our world.
